At the start of 2011, it had been just over a year since I touched my camera. This project was my way of fueling my passion and love for the art again. Through travels, life, jobs, hospitals, love...this is a 358 day documentary of what it's like to be me.
(358/358) Current status of 358: Fin Folder statistics: - 81.87GB worth of space - 19,421 photos taken - 721 photos uploaded - 358 folders created (this is the spot where I start to reminisce, right?) Wow. I almost feel lost now that it's done. It's been quite a year. So much has happened. Road trips, car accident(s), hospitalization, found love, my puppy, exploring the culinary world, the holidays, in and out of jobs, etc. Pretty damn eventful. Looking back is quite a trip. I went from taking little or no photos to taking photos everyday. My love of photography and my dedication to the art returned in full swing, even before I finished the project. It took me a month worth of images to figure that one out. For anyone thinking about starting this up, do it. Especially if you've never attempted it and have thought about it. Yes, a lot of people have done this. That doesn't mean you can't make it your own. We all have lives worth documenting. Whether it be your morning breakfast, a daily portrait, journalism in other countries, pets, travels, etc. Go for it :] So...what next you guys? ;] I'm currently brainstorming. Maybe a 52 type thing. Who knows. For now, I end with a few quotes together: "All the worlds a stage", and, "we are the artists". website

(353/358) Not all meals have to be a production of full of ingredients and steps ;] I've grown fond of Pomegranate in this past month. I went to pick up some fruit for Anna and I this breakfast morning, and I saw they were selling a cup of seeds for $4! Scratch that jazz. I'll buy a Pomegranate for $2.49 and take the seeds out myself. It feels more rewarding that way. site

(344/358) Headed Southwest today for a river walk with Anna and the pup. The path ended abruptly, and our walk resulted in a loop that lasted 5 - 10 minutes. So, we make up for it by exploring and hanging around this old run down mill for a while.

(342/358) Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, what have you.
(341/358) Snow on dead neighborhoods. We're almost done. I also just realized the project isn't going to be 358 days. I think 359 for it to be the end of the year. We'll see.

(338/358) Cards from MOO came today! I've never used business cards in a business sort of way. Then again, I've never aimed myself in that direction of photography. I see these cards as a fun, and tangible form of art. To hold the photo you took is kind of a treat, and to give them away to people to share your lifes work is even funner.

(330/358) A girl who was a complete stranger to me in March, is now one of the closest people I have in my life. She continues to, "wow," me, and has since the day we met. Not being one to put myself out there, I took a leap of faith and complimented her, not knowing what would come of it. The relationship we have built, starting from the ground up, has amazed me. I wouldn't have it any other way, and I can't stress enough just how lucky, thankful, and fortunate I am to have her in my life. <3
(330/358) She's lovin' the snow.
(330/358) Anna Banker (143 days earlier) A girl who was a complete stranger to me in March, is now one of the closest people I have in my life. (330/358) Start of the day.
(329/358) Let it snow.
(329/358) We had no Ramekins, so we couldn't make Souffle. We found a recipe for Chocolate Souffle Cupcakes with Mint Cream...so we gave it a shot. They did the job, but we will definitely have to find some Ramekins down at the thrift store to make some real Souffle in the near future.
(328/358) It's getting harder and harder to shoot each day. Well, mostly to get outside. Winter isn't kind to my body temperature, I'm working the mid-day shift, and that wonderful sun is setting at 4:30pm. So, I cook :]
(328/358) Lots of cooking lately. Dinner tonight was: Veggie Burgers. Always wanted to make em. Turned out delicious though. a variety of nuts, some flax eggs, black beans, shaved carrots, cumin, chili pepper, oatmeal processed into flour...etcetera. Then topped with a pineapple ring with honey BBQ in the middle, and swiss cheese melted over.
(327/358) Note to self: return when you have a tripod that isn't broken, and a remote that wasn't drown in water.
(326/358) Lots of cooking lately. My own recipe for dinner tonight. A last minuted hodge podge put together. It's such a cluster of stuff I can't really remember what's in it. (324/358) Lots of cooking lately. My own recipe for dinner tonight. Cilantro and Jasmine Rice on the bottom, with two large slices of eggplant, one hollowed out and stuffed, some diced up veggies, topped with cheese, and broiled in the oven to get that cheese shell on top.

(315/358) We tried our hand at Jiao zi tonight. We bought some steam baskets earlier today and decided to cook them that way. They turned out great! The only thing is that rolling the shells they go into are...rather hard to get super thin. So next time we might just buy pre made sheets.
(314/358) Dinner tonight was: Potato soup in a bread bowl.
(314/358) I kind of volunteered to take the photos of everyone at Caribou Coffee for the holidays. So far I have 2 of them out of...maybe 8? Give or take. This is, Caitlin. She's a rock star and awesome to work with.
(313/358) My external hard drive broke the other day. It had everything on there from 2006, to the present. Lucky for me, it was only the case that was broken, and not the actual drive itself. I didn't think of this at first, because all that was going through my head was, "all the artwork and photos I have ever taken and created have been destroyed by the teamwork of gravity and a vertical distance of 1 foot." So I was devastated for some days. We called in a favor to a friend and they took in the drive, pried her open and saw that the hard had no damage done and ran perfectly fine when hooked up to the computer. So, we ordered a new case, hooked up the drive, and good as new. All my information is back and available. Now that I've learned my lesson, I should probably get another backup to keep somewhere in the safest corner of my room, wrapped in blankets and handled with utmost care ;]
(312/358) At it again! Macarons. I Found a new recipe that made my life a whole lot easier, while still putting out these delicious morsels. I made three kinds: - Light brown with speckles/white filling = white chocolate mocha - Green/yellow filling = vanilla (the blue dye morphed into green) - Green/green filling = pistachio The white chocolate mocha macarons turned out the best. They kept a good shape. Half of the other batches morphed and had oblong shapes. It all ways out though. More eye candy: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5

(310/358) Thanksgiving is coming, which means family, food, and good times. Anna and I are going back out to Indie to visit and celebrate there. We will be with my 'rents this coming weekend. For Indie we are bringing a side dish. We decided to tackle stuffing and do something with that. Stuffing stuffed peppers was the first thing we thought of. Will branch out later in the week. Note to self...Test #1 consisted of: Fresh sage, cranberries, bread chunks, pecans, apples, white wine, salt, pepper, egg....I might be forgetting something.

(296/358) Foggy Minneapolis.
(296/358) It's been a long time since I've done anything for Halloween. Anna and I decided to dress up as Chuck and Ned from Pushing Daisies. Even made the pie and everything. More in the comments.

A volcanic eruption interrupted that trip)..but everything has kept me in this city for the better. Time will come to move on :] Oh. I still cooked dinner tonight too ;] I whipped up some Ziti with Basil Pesto and Havarti mixed in. French bread on the side.
(281/358) I woke up early and made the girl breakfast. - Omelets with tomatoes, onion, and bell peppers - Hashbrowns - Coffee (can't forget that).

(279/358) Surly Brewing Company Double Espresso Milk Stout? Yes, please! Surly is a brewing company that is just up the road from my house. Every year that have an anniversary brew that seems to be limited edition, short in stock, and have some sweet artwork (it may or may not be correct, but this is what I've gathered.) Now, I'm not a huge connoisseur on beer. It just never fell into it's place while growing up, but this was delicious. Very smooth and caramel like at first, and then bittersweet at the end with an espresso aftertaste. Perfect to kick back and relax with a pick me up at the end ;]
(279/358) Dinner tonight was: Chicken Pot Pie. Anna made the filling and I made the pie crust. I don't know what all went into it...but it was damn good.
(278/358) More photos in comments. Dinner was: Herb and Goat Cheese Frittata - 6 eggs - Fresh Basil, finely chopped (or Sage. I just have a knack for Basil. It calls for 4 leaves of either herb, but I doubled it. Good stuff.) - Salt and Pepper - Olive Oil (3 TBS for cooking and a bit more after that for brushing) - 1 Shallot, chopped and diced (I'll probably swap and try red onion next time) - 1 Red Pepper - 10 Cherry Tomatoes, halved - 4oz Goat Cheese crumble Frittata, is one of my favorite egg dishes. From what I've seen it's usually thicker, but the choice of pans I had to use were either really small, or really large. Better safe than sorry during a first go at this kind of thing ;] It's really a quick and easy thing to make. All you need is a 9" frying pan (non-stick), and a broiler going with a rack arranged about 6 inches from the heat. 1) Start preheating the broiler. Whisk the eggs, herb, salt, and pepper together in a bowl. Set it aside. 2) Heat up olive oil in pan (medium-low heat), and cook the chopped shallot and pepper (and whatever other veggies if you decide to add any.) Cook until soft, and try not to brown. 3) Grab your egg mixture and add that. Gently stir and combine. Cover and cook light for 2-3 minutes. Top should still be moist. 4) Arrange tomatoes and goat cheese on top, brush what olive oil you have on the side over the top of this arrangement. 5) After arranging, move pan from burner to broiler and cook for 5 minutes, or until light brown. Remove and let sit for 5 minutes. Serve as desired (squares, slices, what have you.) I could have easily just posted a link, but it's a lot funner writing everything up ;]
(277/358) Dinner was: Roasted Tomato Basil Soup This one is a bit much to write down for myself. So the link is above. It took a few good hours to make it though. I've never made soup before, so it was a good go for our dinner tonight.

(269/358) Dinner tonight was: Falafel patties on rosemary olive oil bread with veggies, hummus, and cheese. It was a mess to eat.
(267/358) It's decided. Zoey is going to be a squirrel for Halloween. I'd say it's not official, but chances of me going out of my way to find something amazing on the "interweb"...are pretty slim. So this is it. Maybe if I get an overhead Pacman costume, I can manage to walk around with her and get some candy for myself. Kid at heart ;]
(266/358) Lay down and look up. Finding the remaining Fall colors was a tough match. There wasn't much. The area we were visiting had passed it's peak...so it seemed. There just wasn't much color change overall. It was great to get out of the city though.
(266/358) The very core of my being longs for travel in all sorts. It is a permanent guest that I intend to nurture in my years on this rock. Today, I am far away and outdoors in the middle of nature with an amazing girl, and my mountain goat of a pup. I am also hundreds of miles away from work, bills, duties, familiar people...etcetera. A good escape for the day.
(266/358) Dirty Chai. Switching things up without losing the espresso.
(265/358) It's Fall! Pup is excited. A few things: - With peak season for color nearing the Twin Cities, and the Northern woods reaching their peak color, it's time to take a small road trip this weekend. Waterfalls, rocks, lakes, colors, trees...yay :] - Zoey got her cone off! Healed up and good to go.
(264/358) We made a kind of Quiche/Frittata tonight. The bottom layer is a kind of dense crust, and on top is a mixture of cooked onions, basil, tomatoes, salt, papper, and egg, all mixed together and cooked halfway through, and then poured on top of the crust that was layed out in the pan as dough, and baked at 350º for about 15 minutes until the egg and dough had cooked all the way through. It wasn't bad! Quite delicious actually. We then made fall colored M&M cookies (picture in comments). NOM.
(263/358) Angry Catfish Bicycle + Coffee Bar Just discovered this location today, but, definitely one of my top choices for coffee in Minnesota now. Offering 5 different styles of brewing, and getting their supply from Intelligentsia...I'm sold. It's as close to an Intelligentsia shop I'm going to get. I feel like I'm back in Chicago with this. Other words: If a guy behind a counter spends 2 - 5 minutes *clicking* and *clacking* shit together, and you also happen to see a bunch of stuff going on that looks like your 10th grade chemistry class, it's going to be DAMN good coffee. Though It could turn out to be terrible. You never know.
(262/358) Nostalgia. Back to when I was 10 years of age. I downloaded FFIX (that colorful blur on the tele). It was released for playstation in 2000, and then released for download on the PS3 in 2010.
(261/358) "I know you think judgement's made There's no looking down here Ignore the weight of the wall 'Cuz it's only up from here Keep movin', keep swimmin', keep breathin'" I've been feeling the weight of things on and off.
(260/358) Much like our previous Chicken Caprese sandwich, but less ingredients, and visually appealing ;] Top to bottom: - Ciabatta bread top - Red onions - Havarti cheese - Yellow peppers - Diced grilled chicken - Sliced Roma tomatoes - Basil pesto spread - Ciabatta bread bottom Good stuff.
(260/358) Mid-Day coffee time.
(259/358) We tried making Maple Nut Fudge tonight. This is definitely not fudge. We messed up quite a bit...and as a result, we had to be creative and figure out what we could do with our failure. By the end of it all we had made it into a contest who could make what. Anna clearly won visually. I won by taste for about...5 minutes after the cookies came out of the oven. They then turned hard and...well...just weren't edible. Here is what happened: See comments for the full photo story.
(258/358) Poor girl. She has to be in the cone of shame for a week or so. Still cute as ever though :]

(253/358) DIY, for the win. I had a broken Olympus 35 EC2 in my collection some time ago, and I decided to salvage it. I took it apart and mounted the lens from the Olympus (42mm f/2.8) onto a body cap for Canon, and voilà ! We have a lens. The aperture is controlld manually with a small lever that sticks out on the front, and the only way to focus on things further away is to have it at the smallest allowed aperture. Sigh. Needless to say, I haven't taken very many shots with this. ...I should plan on shooting with this sometime in the near future to see what I can get out of it for shits and giggles.
(252/358) Ripe for the pickin' Managed to climb a few for the best.

(251/358) Hello, friends.
(250/358) Coffee. All day.
(249/358) I cooked for everyone tonight. Who knows what the hell I made. A deviation of Chicken Parmesan I suppose? Steps: 1) Bottom layer is sliced potatoes with olive oil, garlic, and ginger 2) Next was a layer of Gouda cheese, with red onion and green peppers 3) Cooked in oven at 375ºF for about 10 - 15 minutes, until cheese just began melting 4) Grilled chicken breasts were added on top of the two layers(4), and a can of sauce (italian sausage meat sauce in our case. It was all we had) was then poured in 5) Another layer of cheese (Gouda/Parmesan) was added to the top, followed by diced red onion and green peppers, with thin slices of tomatoes. 6) Back in the oven it goes Bumping the heat up to 425ºF and cooking for another 20 minutes.
(248/358) What is it, pup!? What a cutie.
(248/358) Dinner tonight was: Pad Thai

(246/358) Nothing to do? Why not make some honey glazed almonds ;] - 3 cups sliced almonds - 1/2 cup of honey - Cinnamon (whatever amount you so desire) Honey and cinnamon go into a pot until bubbling, and then you just add the almonds and stir 'em in nice and good. Continue to stir occasionally, let cook/boil/ etc for 5 minutes. Great in oatmeal, or just as a snack even.
(245/358) You make me smile :]
(245/358) we looked like giants
(245/358) Zoey, puppy! :]
(245/358) Reaping the benefits of water before the nice weather leaves us.
(244/358) I decided to go out on a limb for dinner tonight. I wanted to make something with baked potatoes, but then I had feelings for Frittata...and I couldn't decide. So I just picked up a bunch of ingredients: - baked potatoes - red onion - roma tomatoes - fresh basil - feta cheese Red wine, vinegar, and eggs were added to various mixtures that went into the food. It was...interesting. Edible, and good at the same time? See comments for finished meal
(243/358) Went a little overboard with the burgers tonight ;]
(242/358) Dinner was: Stuffed Bell Peppers - Brown Rice - Homemade Thai Peanut Sauce - Grilled Chicken - Onions - Ginger
(241/358) Tonights dinner: A twist on the Chicken Caprese Sandwich - Ciabatta bread - Basil pesto - Basil vinagarette - Garlic - Tomato - Red onion - Pepper jack cheese - Some red/green chilli peppers - grilled chicken ...and it was all cooked on the grill ;] Good to have it up and running again.
(240/358) It was surprisingly cold going home.
(240/358) Anna and I stopped at, San Soo Gab San (a Korean BBQ restaurant). What was funny is that all the reviews online say to "point at what you want to order because they don't speak english," (we thought it was just a naive comment), to our surprise the comment was correct. Our server had us point out what we were ordering. Side note: We had no idea we would have 10 (give or take) side dishes and a bowl of soup on top of what we had ordered. Who knew. $20 can apparently feed 4 or 5 people there in my book. It was really busy at the time of our arrival, but we were able to sneak in and get a spot at some tables where they have you take off your shoes and sit on padded chairs on the floor. It was great.
(240/358) 1) Amazing coffee made at home (by Anna's sister). 2) Wish we had longer to stay. Amazing people and great times
(239/358) It got pretty stormy out and started raining a bit. We decided it was a perfect afternoon for a movie. Movie: - Let the Right One In For your personal enjoyment: - Turkish Tea - Hookah

(238/358) We went canoeing on Lake Monroe for the afternoon :] Lovely girl.
(238/358) We went canoeing on Lake Monroe for the afternoon. Which was awesome because I've really been craving some sort of water activity besides taking a shower or bath ;] Anna and her sister.
(238/358) Hi, pup!
(238/358) Anna and I have been in Indianapolis, IN visiting some of her fam for the last couple of days. It's been awesome and a great time :] Crepes, fruit, coffee, etc. Deliciousness :]
(237/358) There's a huge spider in the garden here.
(237/358) Good morning, Indiana. (Anna has a long weekend from school and I'm not back at work quite yet...so we took a long weekend to go out and do something out of the usual.)

(236/358) On the road.
(236/358) Anna has some time off school, and I'm not back to work yet, so, we head out to Indianapolis, IN to visit her sister and hubby.
(235/358) I have a vehicle again. My MINI history (all base/hatchbacks/manual): 1st MINI: 2003, Indi Blue Metallic. Drowned in a flood. 2nd MINI: 2002, British Racing Green. Into a ditch and rolled. 3rd MINI: 2008. Lightning Blue Metallic. Lets say this one will die from normal wear and tear. No crashes, no acts of nature, just...normal wear and tear. Sounds good to me.
(235/358) I present: Homemade Baklava This has become somewhat of a favorite treat at night, so, instead of going out and buying it, we made our own :]
(234/358) There has to be at least one picture for a laugh right? ;]
(234/358) Today is the day we decided to make a point to go try new coffee shops around the Minneapolis metro area.
(233/358) Not our finest hour. Also, we have no propane. So grilling (which = over half of the food we cook) is out of the question. So we had a salad and some toasted bread tonight. All good.
(232/358) Everything that came home from my accident (give or take a few items). For the sake of space, I left out everything that had doubles or x38.
(231/358) Cheesecurdnoms (Deep fried cheeseburger in comments)
(231/358) Deep fried candy bar on a stick. First time trying it after the years it has been stationed at the fair. Your choices are: Snickers, Reeses, Milky Way, Oreos, or 3 Musketeers. We had Snickers (see comments).
(231/358) Minidonutnoms
(231/358) Good luck driving through that cluster fuck, copper.
(231/358) Clearly keeping occupied at work. I'd imagine some jobs at the fair have to get pretty dull after letting people on and off rides for 8 hours, give or take.
(230/358) 11 days later: My belongings have made it home. I have a few funny tid bits about what they sent and how they packaged certain items. Soon to come.
(229/358) *click*
(229/358) We took a trip out to Willow Falls in Wisconsin for the evening. Water, be it lake, river, shower, etc, has a calming kind of effect. Peaceful and enjoyable.
(228/358) It is what it is.
(227/358) We have the state fair starting up tomorrow here in good ol' Minnesota. The whole state is able to submit art. It's in a juried exhibit, and it will be on the wall for the next few weeks as everyone rushes in to stuff their faces with delicious foods (most of it being on a stick).
(226/358) Not our finest hour for visuals. It tasted amazing though. Grilled chicken on ciabatta bread with sautéed green peppers and onions with diced tomatoes, and seasoned with basil, pepper, and oil in the bread and toasted on the grill.
(225/358) She's a growin' :]
(224/358) Coffee stash. The Dunkin' Donut grounds are last resort though. Even then I still tend to go out and buy new beans.
(224/358) "Welcome home." Good wishes and all.
(223/358) When I was in Denver, CO waiting for my transfer, I found out that there was a Caribou in the terminal. I thought to myself, "oatmeal and coffee for dinner!." The location I went to didn't offer oatmeal (this was in terminal B), so I traveled to terminal C to find another caribou location. They had what I was looking for, but, they made me the most terrible Americano I have ever had in my life. I explained my trials and tribulations to the employees at the caribou I go to before work every morning, and they covered my Americano. Amazing people and by far the best caribou I have ever been to. Personal, and amazing with guest service.
(223/358) Can I just say how amazing this girl is? First day home after the accident, hospital (etc), and she has Ms. PacMan (because the "Ms." is better) cupcakes baked, AND, she woke up early to go out to coffee with me.
(222/358) (Hospital Day 4) - I need to shave. Lookin' a bit more healed from day 2 (I'll write this all again) Miracles at work my friends. My car rolled 3 times, head was hitting the ground as it rolled, air bags didn't deploy except for my drivers side which just hung outside the door the entire time I was rolling, and I have, no broken bones, no surgeries needed, no special tubes, or anything. I came out coughing blood of 7 hours, and needing my lungs to be monitored, while giving me morphine to control whatever pain was going on. I can't believe it. The staff can't believe it. All I can say is, I feel like walking, breathing miracle.
(222/358) Between two worlds.
(222/358) In Denver, CO. Gate B46: Minneapolis/St. Paul. I'm comin' home.
(222/358) This is, Lynn. When I was waiting for my flight down to Denver, CO to catch a transfer to Minnesota, I ran into my nurse that cared for me during the first 3 days of my stay at the Hospital. Amazing, woman. I can't thank her enough for everything she's done.
(222/358) (Hospital Day 4) The time has come to go home. Everyone at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls, MT has been so great to me.
(221/358) (Hospital Day 3) I'm up and walking by myself now. They took the soft neck brace off so I can regain some support in my neck by myself so I can manage getting home by myself, whether it be plane, train, car, etc.
(221/358) (Hospital Day 3) Alas, the first day I can eat solid foods has come! French Toast and Coffee :]
(220/358) (Hospital Day 2) "breathe, keep breathing, don't lose your nerve breathe, keep breathing, I can't do this alone"
(220/358) (Hospital Day 2) Miracles at work my friends. Rolling in my car 3 times, head hitting the ground as it rolled, air bags that didn't deploy except for my drivers side which just hung outside the door the entire time I was rolling, I have, no broken bones, no surgeries needed, no special tubes, or anything. Lung needed to be monitored and they gave me morphine to control my head pains. I can't believe it. The staff can't believe it. All I can say is, I feel like walking, breathing miracle.
(220/358) (Hospital Day 2) After 32 hours of having no food, I was given the okay to consume, "clear liquids." What did I eat for two days? Flavored ice, coffee, water, and chicken broth. Yep yep.
(219/358) (Hospital Day 1) Did I think I was going to die? Yes. After 7 hours of coughing up blood, the doctors worrying about my spleen having a laceration, the possibility of my lungs collapsing, the potential of having/developing pneumonia, broken bones, surgery...I was written off as bruised, battered, beaten, migraines, and to be monitored in case something goes on with my lungs (3 CTs and 4 Xrays later).
(219/358) (Hospital Day 1) Little did I know that some hours after my beautiful morning under the, "Big Sky," that I would roll my car 1/4 of a mile off the highway, total my car, and end up in the hospital for 3 days. Life is unpredictable.
(219/358) Good morning under the Big Sky of Montana
(218/358) Round two of my trip out west is about to begin.
(217/358) Yoahn Han - Artist We met in 2009 when I went spring semester at School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He is from South Korea. An amazing artist, and friend; he has helped me in more ways than I think he knows. The Project: "The eyes are the window to the soul..." In my belief, the eyes offer a sense of truth, passion, and honesty. The start of this project displays dreamers and artists a like, all studying, producing, or maintaining a creative lifestyle. They have been given the quote, "the eyes are the windows to the soul," and have also been told, "think about what you aspire to. Your dreams, what you see yourself doing in the future, and where you are." It is my hopes to generate feeling, and a sense of honesty, that is able to be interpreted through the eyes, with the assistance of facial expression. I've always said that, "We are the artists," and I believe this to be true. Just by being alive, we are artists, and what we do in life is just one more paint mark on a canvas. That is why the continuation of this project will not only contain artists and dreamers, but anyone with aspirations for present and future. This is an ongoing series started in 03.11.
(217/358) I love finding mirrors.
(217/358) I couldn't resist. First time having a Macarone. I feel so sheltered. How on earth have I been missing out on these amazing treats?

(180/358) Zoey enjoys the front office area of my work. It's kind like a daycare while I work in the warehouse...but not really. There is another puppy up front that is a few weeks younger, and they both need to be socialized, so it all works out.
(179/358) Dinner was: Italian break w/tomato, a mixture of olive/canola oils, basil seasoning, and then cooked/toasted on the grill.

(153/358) Fucking determined. My brother was trying to get glue out of a bottle. The easy way was to just pick it up, flip it over, and ooze it out. He chose to leave it standing up, 3/4 empty, and try squeezing glue from the bottom to the top... ...like I said, "Fucking Determined."

(148/358) Did an art sale down in Iowa over the weekend. I'm clearly doing a lot of work.
(148/358) Some fascination before I left for to head up to Minnesota again.
(148/358) Tastes like sprite. After the sale and being under the sun for 7 hours it was time to relax.
(148/358) PEER PRESSURE. Not really. I actually bought it. I drank 3 or 4 in the span of 7 hours I believe. On a roll.
(148/358) She bought a huge print the last art sale I was down in Iowa for, as well as works at the coffee shop that provided us with the glory of coffee and caffeine in the blistering sun.
(148/358) PEER PRESSURE. I was offered Lemon Cake. I guess it was kind of off and not tasting right? and the owner of the coffee place handing me the coffee in this picture, said that he wouldn't wish it upon anyone, ESPECIALLY, the squirrels in the park. Would never give it to them...because it just didn't taste like Lemon Cake. So I declined. I saved myself.
(148/358) We were discussing and mocking how we react when a camera is around and someone is taking photos. It was awesome to see my cousin and actually hang out with her for the first time in...years. We met and grew up hanging out at family reunions (not because we wanted to). Us and about 3 - 5 other kids, depending on what families could make it, were always the ones sitting at that table in the corner feeling out of place or just bored, which in turn led to running around the church or outside finding something to do. Still. We're pretty awesome. We recently decided this through a number of situations this weekend.

(145/358) New job. What it entails: Playing with spools of color. Nah. It's a bit more complicated. But simply put...I play with colors. Now the months to come of learning the ins and outs of the place.
(144/358) fuckyeahfilmfuckups. I've weeded out destroyed film. I've weeded out light leaks...so, I've come down to this: Metal reels (with pins, clips, teeth, etc) for developing are not, nor ever have been, my friend. Even through school. We have a history. I'd always go after those plastic reals that have the two slots on the side and you keep twisting each side the opposite directions and it would real the film up for you perfect. God I miss those. I need to find one to use. I found the canister at the store down the road, but it was a reel for 120. I suppose I should have bought that too...I'll need it soon enough. But I digress. Clearly the metal ones just aren't workin' out. Canon AE-1 Ilford Delta 3200 DIY. Develop. Just don't fuck up.

(143/358) I just started using my intervalometer. Was supposed to have used it when I went out West...don't know why I didn't. Better late than never. Chaotic water deserves metal.

(142/358) Sebastian Petersen - Family/Brother. He was trying to tell me that I had to take a photo of a birds nest in a tree next to the driveway. It never happened.
(142/358) Dogs need a haircut. The humidity today was like walking into a wall of water. It's been worse. But it's a given having not experienced it for quite a while now.
(142/358) Hey. I can get tipsy off that stuff, right?
(142/358) Universal: Gumballs last a grand total of 30 seconds. Then you spit them out. These ones had nerds in them. So that made those 30 seconds worth my 25 cents. Cheapskate.
(142/358) Met up with the mother at Cub Foods to find ingredients for dinner tonight. We made a chinese/mongolian dish from scratch. It was pretty amazing.

(141/358) Goodnight, another bad morning. and this
(140/358) One of these days I'm going to be chasing storms around the state, and somethings actually going to happen.
(140/358) No major plans today.

(139/358) Pretty sure one of the greatest things to come home to are cookies. NOM.
(138/358) I brought it upon myself to make a creation for dinner.
(138/358) good morning :]
(137/358) Family <3 I get home this evening and he hands me a picture he made. Adorable. I guess one of us doesn't have a face.
(137/358) I would like to take this time to say: "thank you, coffee. For everything you do for me. You always got my back during my mornings and dire times of need. You're a real pal. I look forward to the future years together. Your consumer, Bryant" yeah. what.
(136/358) I went back to my roots today. There is a small wooded area behind my house that I always used to shoot in when I started back in 2006. gotta love the archives. Well...since I've been away and haven't been venturing...it's changed. They built parks around it, made a trail, put in signs describing the different types of trees around. No more are the ponds open for visitation. No more is the clearing that would have flowers bloom every year at this time. Sigh. Damn urban development *shakes fist* I'll find a new awesome backwood area then.
(136/358) I'm a happy camper today. I felt like a kid in a candy store :] I added Canon's AE-1 to my arsenal today :] Just loaded with Ilford HP5 400. I'm ready to shoot. She came in last night to a local camera shop. I stopped by there first thing today to drop off an application for employment, and take a browse and inquire. Once I saw and had it in my hands...there was no doubt. Needed it. What's even better is that my 50mm 1.4 and 1.8 from the FL world will work on the AE-1. There's only a few FL lenses manufactured that will work. I'm happy to have a few that do. So I'm pretty ecstatic. Prime time to use up the bulk of HP5 I have on the shelf >:]
(135/358) This morning was a highlight to my day. I woke up, I had coffee/breakfast, and got to chat with Anna on skype? I say that's a great start to a Monday :] 3 1/2 hours. We're awesome. We even watched Jurassic Park. I'd say that's a win.
(135/358) Such a happy coffee mug.
(135/358) I usually throw her flakes of cereal every morning until she misses one. Then she gets no more. Ewok.
(134/358) Had to get my feet wet sometime. Minnesota has been having some crazy weather. Before I got here, there were sun beams criss crossing each other coming down from the clouds and among rain. Of course. I got there a moment to late. I thought I would gander around some marshlands for a little longer anyway.

(134/358) Mom's at it again! More baking, ftw! For her dad's birthday she made him a golf cart cake deal. Turned out pretty sweet.
(134/358) Tired little brother. Video games takes a lot out of you. Imagine that one.
(134/358) What kind of brother would I be if I didn't introduce the world of video games to the younger brother? Little Big Planet for a day. Oh, and Castle Crasher too. I'd say that this pretty much sums up my time at home ^.^;
(133/358) Severe weather was rolling in, so I thought I would take a drive and chase some stuff around a bit. I drove at least 80 miles around a few counties. I missed the wall cloud and the Tornado touchdown that was about 10mi south from where I was...but either way, it was a rush to chase. I swear, at one point, I saw a tornado start to form. Maybe not. But since I thought it was (at the time), adrenaline took over and chasing was the most fascinating thing to be doing at the time. Even if it didn't yield a Tornado, I ran into rain, hail, lighting, strong winds, clearings, torrential winds, etc. Yah. It was a good evening.
(133/358) Severe weather was rolling in, so I thought I would take a drive and chase some stuff around a bit. Waiting around for some stuff to happen, listening to weather reports, and checking the maps as they update.
